Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission.   • Prayer Request from Tim Sigman - ISI Director of Prayer Initiatives: Mounika (from India) needs her EAD Card (Employment Authorization Document) to start her work at the ISI Home office. There is a big backlog on these cards. Please pray her card will come through this week.
  • Prayer requests from Andy Pearce - Director of Church Partnerships 1. Please pray for a good turnout as the weekly English Conversation Class for Caltech internationals resumes on Mondays in August. 2. Please pray for spiritual growth and discipleship in my two weekly English Bible Zoom classes for Japanese. 3. Please pray for wisdom in planning my travel schedule for this fall as I determine which churches to visit. 4. Please pray for health and God's protection over my entire family.
  • ED GERMANN'S PRAYER REQUESTS - ISI SEGL Regional Field Director 1. Rest time is over. The students are coming! The students are coming! May God renew our strength. 2. Number of staff changing titles and roles. Prayer for wisdom for them especially. But, also, prayer for wisdom for me as I give input and guidance. It is an important moment in someone's life. 3. New staff beginning to raise support. May God bless. Other fairly new staff not reaching financial support goals and all of the emotional responses to such disappointment. May God comfort and lead. 4. Southeast-Great Lakes Regional Retreat is Oct 7-10. May Jesus Christ be The Centerpiece. May Jesus Christ be honored as we love one another. May this Retreat be SPIRIT Led, Spirit Blessed. May our very souls be revived by God.
  • Prayer requests from Valerie Althouse - ISI Director of Training 1. For the full development of the new Training Pathway - that it would equip us to be more effective messengers of Jesus among many cultures. 2. For the Training Team as we grow and shape this path. 3. For the CQ (Cultural Intelligence) Team - that we can grow in understanding how to work among many cultures - among students and our own teams! 4. For the development of new areas of equipping such as the Legacy series and the Leadership development series. 5. For the update and change within our LMS - Learning Management Software - for it to be smooth and helpful for all staff. 6. NYC - for smooth transition for Daniel - as he (A) raises financial support for himself and for Kari, and for NYC and (B) transition of leadership piece by piece. 7. Personal - final healing of all right leg and hip pain. Still in process.
  • Prayer requests from Roger Martin - ISI Global Pastor 1. Pray for Relocation taking place August 11-18 and for internet to be in place. 2. Please pray for a quick adjustment and resettlement in our new location.(Re-location to AZ. for the purpose of being closer to family) 3. Please pray for the new location medical contacts, and continued good health. 4. Praise: the cardiac care and help received at City of Hope has been successful
  • Prayer Requests from Dan Lim - ISI Director of Innovation 1. Pray for wisdom and insight to perceive where God is leading in our fast-changing world, and to follow Him well, both personally as well as in terms of innovation for ISI. 2. Pray for strength, protection, and rest for the Innovation Team - we are all fully engaged in local ministry, and everything we do is in addition to that. 3. Pray for the Lord to bring more people to the Innovation Team, we are especially looking for representation from the Northeast Region. 4. Pray for the development of the Digital Library. We are addressing feedback from our Closed Beta Test, and making improvements as we head towards launch. 5. Pray for clarity on which of the many other areas of need the Lord wants us to focus upon.
  • Prayer requests from Simon Zeigler ISI Western Regional Field Director: 1. Aug 7-11 Returnee Retreat in Korea (mainly for Mainland Returnees) 26 from China, 11 from Korea, 8 from USA. Led by Aquila and Priscilla Kim, ISI Staff, UCLA, Pray for relationship, trust and sharing of God's love to go deep among them all. 2. Pray for God to provide more laborers for the harvest in LA county. 3. Pray for a restful vacation for Simon, Becky, Charissa and Becky's mom 8/16-19
  • Requests from Alex Tovar - ISI Director of Operations 1. Pray for multiple R1 visas in process, also for several R1 renewals and two green cards in process. 2. Pray for new Home Office team member Mounika (from India) who will be joining our Finance team at the end of August.
  • Please pray that God will enable Gospel conversations with students in our ministry. Pray that the Holy Spirit will soften the hearts of these students and they would see a path for them to walk with Jesus.
  • Requests from Teri Crowell - ISI Director of Recruitment: 1. Pray the Lord of the harvest to bring us many new godly mature staff. 2. Pray for returning missionaries to find out about ISI and engage with ministry here in the USA. 3. Pray for people to find us online and for God to lead them to us. 4. Pray that there would be a growing understanding that missions is not just overseas but God has brought the world to us. Thank you for praying!
  • Requests from Jeff Townsend ISI Director of Field Development: 1. For Amber Carpenter as she takes on planning the November LAUNCH (formerly NSO). 2. For Steve Dunne as he co-facilitates with Amber (Steve has helped with live NSOs in the past but this will be his first on Zoom) 3. For the distracted Jeff who is getting married 11-16-24. Asking for God's rich blessing on this union. 4. For the new ISI staff in initial support development: That they would stay prayerful; That they would stay motivated; That they would stay encouraged; That God will lead them to the support He already has planned for their ministries with ISI.
  • Prayer requests from David Larson for ISI Global Reach: 1. Pray for good attendance and the spiritual encouragement of those participating in the 8 returnee and alumni networks that are going so far, including the two most recent: South Asia returnee network and Africa returnee network. 2. Pray also for the next alumni network to be started this fall for Muslim background believer alumni in the US. 3. Pray for Kimberly's efforts with Plant Japan—fundraising this summer and receiving the first applications for grants from church planters this November. 4. Pray for David and Beth Larson's overseas trip and preparations for it: September 27 - November 3rd, including a China returnee summit in South Korea sponsored by AFC, returnee gatherings and global ISM networking in Japan and Malaysia, and (tentatively) a trip to Congo (not DMC) to encourage a new ministry partner and his team in their ISM ministry start-up. Regarding Congo, pray for passport renewal and Congo visas to come through in time for us to go. Thank you for praying, David Larson
  • For our Lakeland IWC meeting on "God is love." and our Picnic in the Park this Saturday that Your presence would be felt there by all! Thank you, Lord, for some new possible volunteers that are checking us out and for such a faithful team of partners that have been reaching out to our students here for many years through friendship, events and now supper clubs! Let Your Kingdom come, Your will be done! Amen
  • Lord, I also ask you for K (Palestine) with whom I am to have a discussion this Thursday. I have been studying and preparing to answer his questions about the "contradictions" in the Bible, so Lord, help me to not just to satisfy his questions, but to point him the deeper issues of who Jesus really is and why it matters. K seems to be someone who is earnestly trying to please God & is very respectful of my faith - Lord, open his heart to you. Guide every thought and word that comes out of my mouth that You may be lifted up and draw him to YOu!
  • Lord, I pray for my time with Z from Iran tomorrow - Thank you that she is doing some searching on her own that has led to good conversations recently after many long years of friendship. Open her heart to the Gospel; give her a passionate hunger for the Truth and a yearning to be assured of her salvation! Guide our conversation as we go to the Norman Rockwell exhibit and have coffee. Bring her husband to know you too and her dear children who are so earnestly trying to do what is right by their standards! Have mercy on them and grant them repentance and faith.
