  • Pray for a friend of ours from Iran. She was hit by a car last week. She will be fine, but she and her husband are naturally shaken. Pray for an increased openness to Jesus.
  • Pray for a student's transportation to the airport this afternoon as she makes a permanent return to Taiwan. She is returning to serve as a missionary.
  • Praying for believing individuals who are witnessing and encouraging our non believing friend from China. May the Lord continue to work in a mighty way in this multi faceted and challenging situation.
  • Pray that God will shield this ministry and its members from the attacks of the enemy, and give us true victory in Jesus.
  • Pray for a candidate staff member who is considering coming on staff in Northern New Jersey. Pray that the Lord will make His will clear to the candidate.
  • Public Prayer: Lord, just like Samuel did in 1 Samuel 3, we long to hear your voice. May we ask with our whole heart: “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening." Jesus, is there any word you have for ISI staff or volunteers? Any verses or images for them—or the ministry as a whole? For the prayer team? Please reveal those to us so we may share them with those who are in need of your Word. Help us to take time to worship you as your Spirit calls us. May we lead in our praise on the battlefield just like the Israelites did when they sent their singers to the front of the lines in 2 Chronicles 20. You are the Lord our banner, Yahweh Nissi.
  • We love you, Lord, our strength! You, Lord, are our rock, our fortress and our deliverer; You are the One we take refuge in, our shield and our salvation. We are calling to you, Lord, who is worthy of praise, and we will receive the help we need in all our needs and struggles. Lord, you hear us at ISI, how much we need Your help, Your wisdom; we need new staff and new volunteers, new support - all these things that sometimes seem impossible or too much to handle, but You, Lord, are the One who will reach down from on high and rescue us, providing everything we need! You will keep our lamps burning, no matter how old and weak or confused we are, and You will be our deliverer, accomplishing Your purpose in us and through us. For You Lord, Your way is perfect and Your Word is flawless and You shield ALL those who take refuge in YOU! We rest in You! (taken & paraphrased from Ps. 18) And YOU will be glorified! For from You, through You and for You are all things!! To You be the honor and glory forever!! Amen!
  • Praise that A from France and Gary Classen are connected now as A. will be arriving as a transfer student to Santa Clara U., in CA. Pray for spiritual openness that goes further than his committed Catholic faith to embrace the Gospel and be saved. Pray that he will be willing to seriously study the Bible with someone. Use his strong, charming personality to influence others also to study.
  • For R. from Mali, living in France, as we begin an M28 with her. Praise that You have been at work in her that she is very open, in spite of her M*lm heritage! Pray that you will bring her Christian friends in Paris as she is quite lonely.
  • Pray for our Volunteer Appreciation & Training Event next Sat., Aug. 19th that God would use it to really light a fire in their hearts for this work, that they would see the need and be willing to make ministering in this capacity a top priority in their lives. Pray also that some would step up to take responsibility for certain areas as we make the transition of "greying staff". Lord, help us all to think about ministry in different ways that meet current needs with the people we have as well as to attract new people!
  • Thank you, Lord, for this prayer initiative! For the vision and preparation that was put into this determination & plan for all of us to stop at the beginning of our school years and acknowledge our full dependence on YOU! You are the One who called each of us, saving us from the dominion of darkness and translating us into the kingdom of your marvelous light! You are the One who called each of us to this ministry so we look to You to equip us and empower us. You are the only One who can save and so we ask you to work in a powerful way through our prayers and through us all to bring many who are lost into Your kingdom. Only You can do this! Our eyes are on. You are our wisdom, our strength, our hope, our joy! We belong to You, use us for Your glory! For the sake of Your great Name!! Amend!

  • That the Chinese Universities would start sending visiting scholars. I have been told most will go to UK and Canada. Pray that the Lord would bring the scholars who would be open to the Word. I am specifically asking that for Austin ... but also for those universities that have ministries who can reach out and befriend them, sharing the gospel.

We pray that our sister ministries in the UK and Canada would reach out to those Chinese scholars to befriend them, serve them well and share Christ with them.
