Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • For our Hindu students at FL Poly - Swetha, Revathi & Bindhu and for 3 more coming this fall, that we would be able to love and serve them well and that they would be open to allowing us to get close to them and trust us enough to listen to the Gospel at the right time.
  • Lord, please raise up a new Director of International Students and Scholars at the Univ of CA at Davis who is open to collaborating with ISMs as Wes has been before he retired.
  • Grace Covenant Church in Austin has a new missions pastor. Keenan is very enthusiastic and wants to establish a vibrant ministry to internationals at UT.

      Hi Dennis,
Can you tell me the street address for Grace Cov? There are 2 by the same name on google maps. I have a former international student moving to Austin and would love for him to find a solid church home.

Have them contact me. There are several good churches … including the one we attend, Hill Country Bible Church. Send me an email and we can talk: [email protected].

  • Increase effectiveness of ministry by Zoom to internationals.in PRC. Those with whom I am talking to invite others .... complicated by language barrier and security concerns. Some are college professors. Aria, Billie, and Sunny who came to faith in the last 2 months. Shunhua, came to faith while in Austin injured ankle year ago, then pain to knee. She is very discouraged ... depression.
  • From Ed Germann GL-SE REGIONS - HOUSING SHORTAGE AROUND MANY UNIVERSITIES - HEALTH ISSUES WITH FAMILY MEMBERS AFFECTING MINISTRY - NEW STAFF – STARTING NEW MINISTRIES FROM SCRATCH - NEW STAFF “PD” DISCOURAGEMENT & PERSEVERANCE - OCT REGIONAL RETREAT – PLANNING NOW/WISDOM/”RETREAT” - RENEWED HOLY SPIRIT VISION AND ENERGY FOR ALL
  • For some of our students: -A former Mongolian student who recently reached one of our staff and God gave that staff memeber some scriptures to share from Bible.is, and this student was happy to find and download the Word in Outer Mongolian. Join in interceding with the Spirit for her to read the Bible and seek Jesus. -Pray for a couple we know to be united in supporting their special needs son. Ask for God to work especially in the father's heart as he is conflicted about his role as a father in his son's life. Also intercede for a proper diagnosis so their son can get services and community help. -Pray for housing provision for a female international student who is part of our ISF home groups. She fled from an abusive uncle and needs a more permanent living solution. The hope is to find a Christian family to host her or a new apartment close enough to be still connected with her ISI community. Please also pray for this student’s healing from the pain and trauma and for her to know her Heavenly Father. Intercede for the family she is currently living with to continue to be a light and blessing to her during this time. (okay to be public since names are left out)
  • Please be in prayer for new staff and volunteers to help with all the possible ministry opportunities we have here in Colorado Springs. The Lord seems to be moving to open doors with the Broadmoor (international interns are here from 6 months to a year), Pikes Peak Summit (summer internship for internationals), and then Colorado College. Pray for wisdom, creativity, and favor to be present and minister in these places.
  • Please be praying for me as I meet with a pastor at a church (just across from UCCS) this week to discuss partnership to be able to use their facilities to host a a FREE monthly lunch. Would the Lord direct our conversation and bring the help we need to put it on effectively.
  • Please be praying that the Lord would raise up more strong Christian student leaders on campus so they could help share the load. Also, for more volunteers and staff to want to disciple these Christian students.
  • For more opportunities to meet international (new and old) students at UCCS and for favor with them. Also, for a good turn out for our welcome event on Aug. 20th.
  • Praise: I was able to meet with someone at the International office last week and they seem to be willing to work with us and want us to collaborate with another international club on campus. Please be praying for the Lord to work this for the good, that we would be able to meet more students that we would have missed other wise, and pray for protection from the enemies' schemes.
  • Good student turnout (50+) for our welcome party on September 1. We have 20+ families hoping to befriend international students attending USF (Tampa) this fall.
  • Pray for Priyanka, Prashant, Vidi, Ajinkya, Saloni and Dibs. Pray for God to shine the light of Christ into their darkness and woo them to himself. Especially for Priyanka, dealing with dark presences regularly. (public not OK)

Lord, may Priyanka call on the name of Jesus

  • Pray for spiritual protection and strategic direction as we learn counter-intuitive ways to engage Hindus (in NYC, but could be nationwide request as well).
  • Prayer for ISI KC - we need staff, and especially for God to bring someone to take on the City Director role in the next 2 years. We need God to provide for more committed volunteers who are willing to take on ministry responsibilities who will be faithful.

Lord God, You are the Lord of the Harvest! You told us the harvest is ripe and oh yes! We see it!! We know it is ripe so we cry out to You to raise up more laborers, laborers that You have called and equipped with hearts that are humble, teachable but passionate for You and for the lost. Almost in every place where ISI is we see the need for new people, not just to help or take over as seasoned staff are getting older, but to expand the work. The time is near and we feel the urgency! Remind us again that You are sovereign and You will bring Your Kingdom in Your way and in Your time. Help us to rest in that even as we look for new staff. Help us to rejoice that it is in Your wise and loving hands!! It is ALL for Your glory, O Beautiful Savior, our Mighty God!!
