Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • ISI, KC (Public Request): Please intercede for our director who wants and needs to pass on the role in the next few years and for her to experience God's provision and rest in the waiting. Pray also for financial provision for one of our new couples joining the team, so that they can be able to commit to full-time ministry work and for God’s protection over their family from spiritual attacks. Ask for God to be faithful to his promises to cover them under his feathers and hide them under his wings (from Psalm 91—whole chapter beautiful for intercession). We ask for God's healing over another of our staff as well with his eye condition. Pray for his strength as he eases back into his master’s studies again and for spiritual protection and physical well-being for him and his family.
  • Pray for our team as they take the reins for campus ministry. Pray for the two who are applying to be Min Reps. May there be unity of spirit and joy as they continue to love on the internationals.
  • Pray for some GenX and Millennials staff who can fill the gap between more senior and very young staff as leaders for a time. Pray for deeply committed young staff who have good networks to raise support. Pray that we can help international staff raise their support.
  • Continue to pray for Andy Grove as he is working through bone marrow work, blood transfusions and so much more as he recovers from cancer. Pray for a key volunteer in our area who was diagnosed with cancer. God has used it to move believing and unbelieving students alike but its been very hard. Pray also for some new staff including some international as they raise support.
  • For ISI, KC: Ask for God’s abundant provision for the Home Goods Giveaway on August 26th with quality donations to be a powerful witness, for more volunteers (especially strong youth), financial provision to cover all the expenses, and enough vehicles/transportation. Ask that God will move many people to give $25 Walmart gift cards for the new students to get items they can’t find at the Giveaway. Pray also for our upcoming Welcome Picnic on September 9th. Ask for God’s provision for bountiful food and volunteers and financially to cover everything needed.
  • For the families of all staff members and volunteers: salvation for all our loved ones to come to faith in Christ, especially those that have been prayed for over a long period of time. Lord, open their eyes to your beauty, lovingkindness, and graciousness and their need for forgiveness and the life that only you can give.
  • Pray for S in Inner Mongolia who is a believer & has been faithfully reading her Bible since she returned home 2017. Pray for fellowship, for protection, for a satisifying job and for her husband to become a believer. Praise& thanks for her long-awaited son, now 3 years old and for her as she teaches him about the Lord.
  • For Y in PRC to be born again. She has heard the Gospel, studied the Bible with me for 3 years and made a profession of faith, but backed off quickly because she was afraid of security concerns. Pray that her despair over life would lead her surrender her life to the Lord and find true joy and purpose. Praise God I finally heard back from her this week after many months of no contact!
  • For A. from Cameroon who is roommates with M. from Egypt & is exploring Islam. Pray that we will be able to have good conversations with him & M. about what he is learning and be able to ask open questions that cause them both to question Islam. Pray that he would listen to and receive the Gospel. I have been trying to get together with him all last year and was not able - pray that God will make it possible.
  • For Jessie & Danny Lauk's Supper Club especially that the Gospel conversations that began last year would continue & deepen this year; that they would issue into an M28 study, especially with Juan & Debra.
  • For new Supper Clubs as they start up again this fall at FL Poly in Lakeland and for this new initiative starting at USF in Tampa - for God's chosen students to participate, for the establishment of rapport between the hosts and the students, for genuine friendships to develop and Gospel conversations to come out of that.
  • For the new Coaching & Training initiatives - give wisdom to Gordy & to Valerie in their new roles. Use it to mutliply our effectiveness as staff and to attract & equip new staff. Help those of us who are used to doing things one way, learn to minister in new ways that communicate better to the younger generation.
  • Praise God we have been able to connect in person with 10 students from Binghamton University this summer. Students from central Asia and Laos. Some of the summer activities have also led to some spiritual discussions. (Public Request)
  • Pray for a student from Nigeria who has been connected with us here in Binghamton since before the pandemic. She is one of our sisters in Jesus and like all of us has been through a lot the last few years. She is praying that she will be able to graduate by spring 2024. Pray for endurance, good health, and perseverance for her. Public request.
  • Pray for the events of August 19th at Lamar! Coordinating an on-campus prayer walk in the morning followed by a welcome lunch for new int’l students where they will also receive a blessing basket of basic items. May the Lord stir the hearts of local believers to be a part—from prayer walking to serving to engaging students to donating baskets!
