  • Pray over new international student orientation tomorrow afternoon(August 10th). May the Lord direct all the believers at the student connections fair to connect with the students that He wants us to connect with. May no students fall through the cracks. May He give us favor and winsomeness with students and many, many opportunities for follow up & connection! Praise the Lord for the estimated 300 new students at Lamar this semester!
  • Praise God for the ways He’s leading and providing here as I step forward in starting our first home group for Lamar students! Praise Him for the 12 volunteers that have prayerfully agreed to help lead this home group! Pray with me for this group of volunteers to lead in unity with the Spirit and one another. Pray for the Lord to bring the students that He wants to be apart of this home group and that He’s foster genuine community. Pray for the Lord to bring people of peace who desire to know more about Him and discover truth from His Word! May He be glorified!

  • Wanted to share soem praises with requests! Praise God that one of our staff recently found out that the children of some former Mongolian students (whose family they’ve been praying for) have asked their parents to take them to church. Thank God that their local Friendship Partner has already been able to recommend a church. Praise God that a wife’s spousal visa was approved, and she will be joining her husband in the states in September. Praise God that one of our international lady's work permit will be automatically renewed until she gets a decision on her visa application, and the DMV should soon follow with her license renewal. Ask that she would continue to know God as the great provider and for favor so her visa would be approved soon.
  • Pray for God to draw M, a former student who is in his home country, to be able to follow Him in a difficult environment.
  • For a new initiative this year - monthly Table Talks centered around discussion of worldview topics. Pray that this would be led well & wisely and that students would be attracted to these discussions. Pray for an absence of quarreling, but an honest and open exchange of ideas that would challenge people to explore the truth of the Word in Christ.
  • For one of our very active volunteer families that are going through a serious crisis and have had to take a less active role - for wisdom for the parents & healing for the child, for discernment about what to be involved in and provision of new people to take their places
  • For our Volunteer Appreciation and Training Potluck Aug. 19th that new volunteers would come and begin to feel a part of our team and to be effectively equipped to reach out to students this fall.
  • For our Hindu students at FL Poly - Swetha, Revathi & Bindhu and for 3 more coming this fall, that we would be able to love and serve them well and that they would be open to allowing us to get close to them and trust us enough to listen to the Gospel at the right time.

  • For some of our students: -A former Mongolian student who recently reached one of our staff and God gave that staff memeber some scriptures to share from Bible.is, and this student was happy to find and download the Word in Outer Mongolian. Join in interceding with the Spirit for her to read the Bible and seek Jesus. -Pray for a couple we know to be united in supporting their special needs son. Ask for God to work especially in the father's heart as he is conflicted about his role as a father in his son's life. Also intercede for a proper diagnosis so their son can get services and community help. -Pray for housing provision for a female international student who is part of our ISF home groups. She fled from an abusive uncle and needs a more permanent living solution. The hope is to find a Christian family to host her or a new apartment close enough to be still connected with her ISI community. Please also pray for this student’s healing from the pain and trauma and for her to know her Heavenly Father. Intercede for the family she is currently living with to continue to be a light and blessing to her during this time. (okay to be public since names are left out)
