Prayer Requests and Prayer Points
Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!
In one of my prayer slots I was moved to pray for Gen Z. Praying that we older generations would be like the four friends tearing back the roof for the paralytic. Working to see them encounter Jesus, and be healed (from mental illness and spiritual apathy and darkness).
Lisa | 3 months ago | Prayed 29 time(s)Please pray for A-R, an Iranian recent graduate, who's been doing Bible study with NYU staff off and on for 6 years. He's now questioning faith in general, not just Islam. (This could be a good sign!) We're longing for him to put his faith in Jesus.
Lisa | 3 months ago | Prayed 27 time(s)Pray for Tanji, a former chaplain at NYU from the Bakhti Yoga tradition (Hari Krishna). She's been growing in the experience of and desire for Jesus, after a traumatic experience in her faith tradition, and is also exploring Islam. Pray for her to become solely devoted to Jesus. Pray for me to be sensitive to the Spirit's leading in connecting with her. Hoping she might become a powerful witness to the NYU spiritual life community.
Lisa | 3 months ago | Prayed 26 time(s)Please pray for S, returnee in Iran, who came to faith before she left. Pray for safety online as we do Bible study in John. Smriti, a Nepali world changer, is joining us. Pray for God to connect S with believers in Iran and enable her to safely share with her family and friends in his timing.
Lisa | 3 months ago | Prayed 22 time(s)I have felt led to pray boldly into and for this year to be fruitful (evidence of movement of His fruit) in all the areas (my personal relationship with the Lord, ministry, finances, love life, etc.) of my life. That I and our ISI Colorado Spring’s team would “taste and see the goodness of the Lord”!
Kimberly | 3 months ago | Prayed 27 time(s)Please pray for wisdom and unity in bringing about 2-3 bible study groups here in Colorado Springs. Pray that our Christian students would take initiative and ownership to lead these groups, alongside the support of a few of our volunteers.
Kimberly | 3 months ago | Prayed 27 time(s)I am in need of new staff (ideal number would be 3-4) here in Colorado Springs, to help with reaching more students for Christ. Currently, it is just me on staff. And I’m trying to get things off the ground at 2 new locations/ grounds.
Kimberly | 3 months ago | Prayed 27 time(s)Tomoko (returnee in Japan since 1995) sent this request. These are her words ,"I met a nice heart warming Christian and we got engaged. Our wedding will be March 29, 2025. We hope and pray all non believers at our wedding will know Jesus as their Savior. Please pray together."
Lynette | 3 months ago | Prayed 28 time(s)Praise God that over the last year and this semester we have had the blessing of meeting several believers among our itnternational students and scholars! Please pray that our ministry and local churches would be an encouragemetn to them and that nothing would hinder them from further discipleship and witnessing to fellow internationals. May they share their testimony in the special way that only they can.
Lindsay | 3 months ago | Prayed 25 time(s)Jesus, you promised that just like the rain and the snow from heaven always waters the earth (and never return without growth that provides seeds for the sower and bread for the hungry)—so the words from your mouth will not return empty. We proclaim this with confidence—that your Word to the international students and scholars (may it be in our mouths!) shall accomplish your purpose and succeed in your mission. We rejoice and pray that our brothers and sisters around the world may proclaim with us, that though our sins were like scarlet, now they are white as snow. Though our sins were crimson, now they are wool. (inspired from Isaiah 55:10-11 and Isaiah 1:18).
Lindsay | 3 months ago | Prayed 24 time(s)Posted by Tim Sigman - ISI Director of Prayer Initiatives - Join Julie and I as we pray for the next generation of fruitful Kingdom laborers. AJ (Amarildo) came to us as an international student from Brazil and is now on staff with ISI reaching the nations in the DC area. We got to baptize him at the National Conference. Ingrid Marquis is starting a new ISI ministry at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. She has already led three international students to faith in Christ. Tim is coaching AJ and Ingrid as they raise their final financial support. Pray their full funding comes in by the end of March.
Tim | 3 months ago | Prayed 31 time(s)Intercede for our director as she is praying about having a bible study (possibly in combination with the series “The Chosen”) – for internationals. Pray this might come together and start soon so that curious students can explore who Jesus is and why he came. Pray for God's leading and direction as he shows another staff member how he wants him to navigate multiple mission fields. Ask for the Spirit's provision to bring new youth and life into the ministry to be discipled by our veterans. In volunteer and staff positions that are so desperately needed.
Lindsay | 3 months ago | Prayed 31 time(s)Praise God for the ceasefire in Israel-Hamas! I don't even know how to pray for the situation, but let's together ask God to somehow work for his glory. To heal and restore a weary people and land that is divided. May all praise his name and know him as Lord! Our Prince of Peace and Emmanuel.
Lindsay | 3 months ago | Prayed 32 time(s)Pray for Y., living in Shanghai that the Lord would stir her heart to seek Him wholeheartedly after turning in fear and being out of touch with me for a couple years. She recently reconnected and we are talking about perhaps seeing each other at the National Conference in Japan as she could travel there freely. Pray that would happen if that is the Lord's will and that He would use our times before and during that to stir her heart to genuine faith in Jesus.
Anne | 3 months ago | Prayed 30 time(s)1. Relationship with God: Deeper intimacy with Him. Keep Him to always be my first love and primacy obsession. 2. My Mom’s health: My mom’s miraculous recovery from her chronic pain-depression. Currently she sometimes has suicidal thoughts, which makes my heart heavy. 3. DMin Studies: More energy and wisdom to study my Doctor of Ministry program well, hoping it will be very helpful for my campus ministry. 4. Volunteer Needs: More mature core families and Christian students to commit into my campus ministry. 5. Soul Mate: A brother with the same vision to be my life-long soul mate, Lord willing. Otherwise, increasing contentment in singleness.
