Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • Continue praying for Mohammed and his girlfriend, Erynn, that God would work in their hearts that they would become true seekers, not just curious and questioning. Pray for a powerful work of the Spirit in them. Pray that Jessie, all our volunteers who interact with them and myself would be given the right words and word pictures to share with them to cause them to seek more. Lord, only You can raise the dead and bring new life to them!!
  • "Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled... You who answer prayer, to you all people come...You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth..." Ps 65:1-3, 5
  • Pray for Hossein. He comes from a M background. He is really intelligent and is seeking. The Lord has put him on the hearts of many of our volunteers to pray very boldly and intentionally for him this semester. Pray that God would reveal Himself to Hossein through signs, visions, dreams, His Word, His people, whatever means He so chooses! Pray for Hosseins salvation!
  • Pray for our Big Howdy Welcome Party at Lamar University this Saturday from 2-4p. Pray that the Lord will draw the new students there that He desires and that He will open their hearts to Himself and those they'll meet. Pray for the believers that will be there to be filled with the Spirit and to make divine, lasting connections for God's glory! May He be exalted in all the details!

  • Please be praying for the prayer team at ISI, KC. When we do live Zoom prayer times and set up prayer walks, few come. Sometimes the gap can be a little discouraging even as I am so grateful for the faithful that do and are able to (and for all those who are joining in their own timesa and ways). Ask God to give me wisdom as our prayer coordiantor on how to best faciliate and enable all of us to intercede and praise strongly together. And for a spirit of passion to sweep through our members that realize the power, blessing, and priviledge of prayer. Please intercede for me to keep my eyes on God and not on the opinions of people either. May his vision of our prayer ministry reign and not what I imagine - contentment, humility, and also a dreaming, listening heart for his plans.
Lynn Williamson, Min Rep for ISI says:

Here’s an idea from Youth With A Mission (YWAM) which is used in Scotland and Wales called “Treasure Hunting.” Before going out prayer walking in two’s pray for who to speak with, wait until you see a picture or a description of the person or persons for that prayer walk. Share what you got with your partner, then go out. Our son in law did this, and he saw in his mind a man with a big green hat. Sure enough a man with a big green hat got off a bus. He did not want to talk with them, but they did their best telling him about Jesus and why they were speaking to him.

        Lindsay says:

Thanks, Lynn! I will try that. Opening for the listening heart and the Spirit. 🙂

  • Recently one of the students *M came to Christ just before Christmas time! His brother has also become a believer, and they are already witnessing to their family. Pray that the Lord will revolutionize M's life and help him grow deep roots so that he can be a disciple maker—and for the whole family to come to Christ and be transformed.
  • For ISI volunteers meeting with returnee G and his wife E on Jan 15: God to prepare their hearts for deep spiritual conversation and to move G and E into The Kingdom, safe travel and protection over their meeting place and time together.
  • Tim Sigman posted prayer requests for Kyipa international student who attended World Changers Conference with ISI Staff Ron Ingram in Chicago. - 1) Pray for my new semester (Studying Masters in Mental Health Counseling). 2)For God's provision in my finances. 3)For my faith to grow this year to be able to listen to God and walk in obedience. 4)For good health. 5)For my family back in Nepal.
  • Tim Sigman posted for Roy Yabuki RMP Regional Field Director - 1) Pray for an international staff member who must return to their home country due to visa issues. Pray for a swift resolution and for us to see God glorified through this situation. 2) Pray for several staff members who have undergone surgery or experienced illness in the past few months. 3)Pray for healing and restoration to normalcy. Also, pray for those facing cancer and heart diagnoses. Pray for peace, as God is the great healer. 4)Pray for God’s provision of leaders in key cities with many international students. We need workers for the harvest. Pray for patience during the process and for creativity in finding these workers, as traditional methods may not be effective in these contexts. 5)Praise God for the World Changers conference and all He accomplished during that time. I was deeply moved by the mentoring that took place there. Pray that God brings to completion all the things He revealed at the conference in the years to come. 6) I join Ed in praying for prodigals in staff families. Pray for their protection during this time and that God will bring them to Jesus in His perfect timing and way. Pray that their experiences will make sense in the future and that the love of Jesus will be overwhelming to them. 7)Pray for wisdom in turning spiritual conversations with our new South Asian friends across the country—who are open to discussing these topics—into conversations about Jesus. Pray for these dialogues to move from curiosity to genuine interest and a desire to seek Him alone. 8)I sense a sense of “blah” among our local team members. Pray for a revitalization of each person. Allow each one, me included to see Jesus and bathe in his presence.
  • Please pray for my friend T, a young believer who is now exploring LDS and Jehovah’s Witness. Pray for protection from deception, and God’s light and preservation!
      Anne says:

Lord, I pray that help Claire to stay engaged with T and for this young woman to look to Claire and Your Word for the answers to the questions she has. Strengthen their relationship and T to put down deep roots into the Scriptures so that she would not be swayed by deception. “Sanctify her in Your Truth; Your Word is Truth.” You are the Truth, the Way and the Life! May she turn wholeheartedly to You and find all her needs met in You! For the sake of Your Kingdom and Your glory! Amen!

  • Please pray for our small team in Reno/Sparks, Nevada. We are working with students from UNR and TMCC. Some of our team has been with ISI for a long time and their lives are transitioning into new areas of ministry. Please pray for God to lead us into what he is calling us to do. And that he is preparing the hearts of our students to hear of Jesus. Please pray for new committed volunteers and a City leader so that we can expand our ministry on our campuses for His glory.

Also one of my former students who is very Bangladeshi Muslim cooks for new students at the Islamic Center off campus because he was blessed by all these meals when he came here 10 years ago.
