Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • Paula Parker - Executive Director, ACMI: Praise God for a strong, growing team. Pray for the ACMI Staff & Board to have God's wisdom, plans, and creativity to strengthen ISM globally in 2026. Pray for God’s provision of a half-time, support-raising associate director and key volunteer roles to be filled: ACMI conference plenary speakers, workshop presenters, worship leaders, emcees, and live hub hosts and locations.
  • Please pray for a student I led to Christ and discipled throughout her entire PhD. She was a multiplier and zealous for the gospel but has recently become very disillusioned and questions the goodness of God. She is not responding to me at this time.

Jesus our hearts are broken for this student who so fervently followed you and seems to be falling away. God, you can take any question. Please bring her back to you and answer her disillusionment from your word and your people. You are soveriegn and hold eternity and all knowledge and goodness. Reveal yourself to this dear child who has strayed. May she not be a seed who grows up quicly and wilts but one of the lost sheep you left the ninety nine to go search for.

  • Please pray for me and my wife as we seek God's direction about which local church we should become members of. This is so important for us as a couple and for international student ministry. Thanks!
  • Praise the Lord for international staff team members. The process is long and confusing especially as rules seem to be changing daily. Pray for God’s peace for them. God has provided some unexpected routes for them to move forward. Pray for perseverance, protection, provision. As Alex said we are applying for some H1B type visas for several team members. There are some of the first that ISI has done. Pray for God’s favor with the immigration officials, policy makers, etc.
  • Pray that the Lord of the harvest provide more workers. Pray every day for this because the need is urgent.
  • Pray for our student friends who continue to struggle finding a job. I just heard that two dear ones have run out of time to find a job and have to go back home to a situation to pay their accumulated debt is very much a struggle. Pray for God to show His purposes in all of this. Perhaps some will see this as a reason to follow Jesus. Pray for the propagation of the gospel through the result of some of these situations. Pray for the hearts of the students as they struggle through these things.
  • Pray for several transitions of ministries from long time leaders. Pray for provision of the next generation, pray for wisdom on how to lead those transitions. Pray also for those slowing down and retiring to find their next calling with their new circumstances. God can and will still use them or they wouldn’t still be around. Help them to have the courage and patience to see what He shows.

Dear Jesus, you tell us that our elders are blesed with much wisdom. We pray for your favor over this generation that is retiring. May they disciple and entrust future generations to you. May their lives be full of abundance and a special ministry as only they can. So many nations revere age and will listen from respect and honor. We pray that would be a foothold for souls to hear the Gospel and have a chance to know you. May they also be blessed with rest from their labor and love and support from those they have raised up in these new seasons of life.

  • The enemy has been attacking several staff members through their families. There are estranged relationships, struggles with past sins, issues related to the aging of parents or the busyness of young children, death, and illness. Please pray that our staff members will be able walk in Jesus as they walk with their loved ones while continuing serving international students.
  • Please pray for the family of min rep Gene who passed away early Saturday morning at 1 am after a bout with cancer. He was a faithful servant who loved the students and the students loved him.
  • Tim Sigman - ISI Director of Prayer Initiatives: Lord I have been deeply challenged by Dr. Stott. Based on his decades of ministry throughout the global Church, internationally renowned evangelical leader John Stott summed it up like this in his book, The Radical Disciple:“We have become puny Christians because we’ve settled for a puny Christ.” Jesus help us to be Awaken to You the Glorious Lion and the Lamb for You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
  • Pray for A. from a South Asian country to be met by a Christian friend in Louisville Kentucky. He's been there for 5 months and I haven't been able to make a connection for him.
  • We praise God that many sources suggest that Iran has the fastest growing church in the world. The Spirit has been opening so many hearts. Intercede for the Lord to soften the hearts of our Persian friends whose hearts have become hardened against religion after encountering such horrors. May they encounter Jesus, who is the Prince of Peace and Almighty God, lamb and lion, and give their hearts to him.

We’ve been praying as a group during the evening Zoom prayer calls for the country and people. Feel free to join us tonight to pray for God’s deliverance there.

  • Please be praying for one of our Persian friends who saw her sister *S and niece *S in some of the protest footage in Iran. Intercede for protection for them and all the protestors as they show amazing courage. May the communication blackout be lifted and truth revealed.
  • Please pray for our Iranian friends who are in great distress over what is happening in their homeland. They feel abandoned by the press because of how the regime's atrocities are being covered so little or with a slanted view. Intercede with them for justice as they long for freedom.
  • Jesus, teach us ISI volunteers and staff what it means to have our lives crucified with yours. May our existence be filled with your presence beyond our own. Let our guiding light be our faith in you—the one who loved us and gave yourself for us (inspired from Galatians 2:19-20).
