Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • Please pray for the sister of one of our staff member's who is recovering from a fall that led to the discovery of multiple brain bleeds requring surgery (further complicated by her multiple forms of dementia). The procedure was successful and we ask for healing prayers for rehab and enough strength to be able to return to her desired assisted living apartment. Pray for stamina and strength for our staff member, her niece, and her nephew as they work as a team to watch over *M.
  • Praise God for all the successful events he has blessed in 2025 and his tremendous favor with active partnering campuses—may the seeds planted continue to bear fruit and produce fruit in Kansas City. We ask for the Lord’s multiplication and provision over all the volunteers the Spirit has brought to ISI —including young adults from a couple of partner churches.
  • Lift up all the internationals who have arrived/are arriving in December/January for the new semester across the US. Ask God to prepare their hearts to connect with believers who love Jesus and are eager to share about him. May they sense the care and welcome of his Church even stronger amidst political tensions.
  • Pray that God would raise up a new Director for ISI, KC so that Carol can move from her current position to a more direct ministry role. We prias God for our new Friendship Partner Coordinator - Tiffanie! Ask for the Lord’s blessings on the relationships that are forming as she has matched students/scholars with volunteers. May the Spirit give her divine wisdom and discernment and encouragement.
  • I have received a diagnosis of melanoma skin cancer a few days ago. Please pray for healing, and for entrance into a specialized clinic in my area. Thank you.
  • This weekend, 1/17 to 1/19, Tim is speaking for a Chinese church’s annual retreat. Pray for anointing. Pray for both of us as we interact Cross culturally.
  • This week we are starting up again at Wilmington U. We have tried multiple times to meet with the overarching boss of student activities. We know that they don’t allow any Christian clubs on campus, and we have been operating a bit under the radar with the blessing of the international student office, but we would love to be able to have opportunities to post things and announce that we are there to meet the needs of the students. We met the woman briefly but, no response to requests to talk
  • For following USAFA international cadets: (1) Shuban to know Christ as his Savior. (2) For Avery's and Jong-Su's next steps after graduation this May, that they will fully embrace Your calling for them. (3) For ex-cadet Jonathan's Christian witness and his success & safety in flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama. (4) For ex-cadet Grace's wedding this February and her Christian witness.
  • Praise God, we have a few young adults from our church interested and joining our bi-weekly student home dinners. Please pray God will continue to grow a thriving partnership with volunteers in our and other local churches to reach the international students in Brooklyn.
  • We have met several Christian Indian students this semester, but they have not been interested to meet for Christian activities: prayer, Bible study, etc. We would love to go deeper with them and we ask for prayer for them to be willing to meet regularly for intentional mentorship and discipleship.
  • Please pray for two of our students who seem especially hungry for God. Pray for M, who has been studying the Bible with us for over a year now. He said he is ready to follow Jesus if he could experience God in some way! We are praying that God will make Himself known! Also, H had an experience of God at the first of the semester and has expressed interested in reading the Bible. She seems to be experiencing spiritual attack. Pray for protection and for her to fully surrender to Jesus.
  • Please pray for our family as we look for a new apartment. We found out that we can not re-sign our lease in August and are discerning God's will for next steps. We felt strongly that God led us to our neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY as there are many students around us. We also want to host gatherings in our home and our apartment is large enough to do so. Please pray God will provide something similar for us and to help us to trust and not be anxious in the waiting.
  • I'm having ankle surgery Tuesday Jan 13 (morning). Please pray for no infection, effective repair of the tendon/s and a smooth recovery (low pain), so I can hopefully get back to campus soon (with my cast/boot).
  • Let’s pray for more favorable perspective from the public regarding international people residing in the US. With ICE and the crack down on immigrants, I feel people look even at international students with sceptisism. I sense suspicion from Christians as well. May our international students experiences be more welcoming than negative as we all reach out and make meaningful connections with them.
