Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • Pray for those who were trained in our M28 disciple-making strategy in Uganda earlier this year. That they would be bold to reach those in their spheres of impact, inviting them to do truth discovery and to multiply disciple-making in their communities.
  • I feel led to pray for "friends for the friend-makers." It's ironic the people who spend so much of their time and effort building friendships everywhere, can feel isolated in their own churches. Let's pray that a perceiving will happen in the body of Christ, and that every ISM worker will have several kindred spirits who love them just for who they are, not for anything they do..

This is a wonderful prayer, Ian! Thank you so much. Praying with you.

  • Pray that ISI Pullman will meet make new international students on Friday, 8/15 on the campus of WSU. Pray for people of peace among them. Pray for divine guidance and breakthrough as we plan for the semester that is here, now!
  • Lift the September 3 Ministry Roundtable call, that will bring together international educators and ISI staff to discuss better collaboration during a stressful time in the immigration sector. May good fruit result.
  • "Lord, if you love internationals and if you love your Church then you want us to love them both and be conduits and connectors of that love. May the ministry service we do each day be rooted in this purpose."

      Amen

  • Please pray for "J" currently in Dubai. Her family is is need of practical help from the people of God. Pray that hardship they are facing will result in a miracle in their family, and in their salvations.
  • (3/3) Pray that students will seek God amid intense pressures with their graduate degree programs. And for student’s hearts to respond to Jesus’ transforming love and forgiveness.
  • (2/3) Pray for more local Christians to befriend students while they’re here. And especially for God to prepare and equip a new generation of ISI leaders for Monterey.
  • (1/3) For Monterey Ca: Connecting with new students arriving, contacts are lower than usual so far.
  • (2/2) Yet you remind me that you are fullness—you are provision—beyond understanding. So, we pick up our elder’s robes, and in faith tap the river’s surface—knowing you will make a way as you did for them. (inspired from the story of Elish and Elijah in 2 Kings 2).
  • Pray for the AZ team as they seek to make many new student contacts in these couple of weeks. May there be many Divine appointments. Pray, too, for a student gospel retreat planned for OCT. May God prepare hearts for salvation.
  • (1/2) Lord Jesus, we serve alongside our honored elders in the ministry who will soon cross over to you. We beg you to grant us a double portion of their spirits—passionate and faithful to the end. Now I look around me and seemingly there are fewer serving those who came before us. I cannot help but cry and ask you, “Who will take up the mantle?! Where is your next generation of saints for the nations, Father?”
  • Lift up *O who is studying the Bible with one of our volunteers. She is a student from India who attended a Christian retreat and came back curious. Pray that O will come to know Jesus and have a open heart. Please intercede also for *S from Saudia Arabia who is having amazing spiritual and life conversations with our director (they have even watched some of The Chosen together). Ask God to draw S’s heart to him and clearly make himself known.
  • Pray that ISI, Kansas City will see more volunteers trained and churches recruited to serve in reaching out to internationals especially for the friendship partner ministry. Ask Jesus to renew current staff and volunteers with the values of his Kingdom and be focused on teaching what Christ taught.
  • Praise the Spirit for how he has connected two Indian students who are believers with the local church and are serving on the worship team. It is so beautiful to see! We also thank God for all the volunteers who have picked up students/scholars at the airport as they arrive for the fall semester from all around the world. Intercede for the Spirit to give believers winsome words, wisdom, and his heart as they welcome them. May this be only the beginning—not the ending of these friendships.
