going in for open heart surgery on January 21 with surgery scheduled for the 22nd. Pray for God to guide the surgical team so that the surgery is successful. Pray also for God to provide the necessary finances to cover the cost of the surgery and rehab. Lastly, pray that this event would be used to shows my international friends that God is involved in the lives of his created humans. Thanks!
Seng Tan - ISI President: 3. That God will continue to meet ISI’s financial needs according to His glorious riches in Christ (Philippians 4:19), as He has faithfully done for so long. 4. Favor from the US Government in expediting and issuing the needed R1 and H1B visas and Green Cards for our international staff. (And for our colleague Freddy Oei’s detention by ICE to be quickly resolved in Freddy’s best interest.)

That we will complete, in God’s time and way, the work of Expanding the Tent (Isaiah 54:2) to which we’ve been called (Colossians 4:17)—that we will bring God glory (John 17:4). 2. For all in the ISI Family (students, staff, volunteers, partners & leaders) to know God’s will for each of us and fully embrace our calling in Christ (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 5:17).
Pray for David and Beth's overseas trip to Europe February 9 - March 10, which includes visiting staff and Overseas Associates in Germany, Belgium, and Scotland, follwoing up with the team in Milan, Italy that worked with Joey Sforza during his ministry trip there last July, and exploring ministry opportunities in Debrecen, Hungary (through connection with a returnee).
Tim Sigman - ISI Director of Prayer Initiatives: Please pray for Iran. Millions of people have been protesting against the government in the streets for 13 days. Pray that this current repressive government will be removed and God will raise up a good government for the people Iran. That the work of God will expand in Iran in a powerful way. Protection for our friend headed there soon.
Praise God for the successful Japan ISM summit held in Tokyo in November (co-organized by Yvonne Choo) with 50 attending from multiple organizations. Pray for momentum to continue to build frim this event, resulting in more ISM workers and more fruitful ministry among international students un Japan, of which there are now more than 300,000.
Pray for the new ministry we are helping to get started in the Republic of Congo. They hosted their first student event at their new ministry center / office in Pointe Noir in October and followed that up with a Christmas event in December with 45 attending from 5 or 6 African countries. Pray for the establishment of regular ministrty programs, for financial provision to enable long-term sustainability, and for the newer branch in Brazzaville to make steps to get started.
Kgomotsi, a returnee from the Lincoln, Nebraska ministry, is starting a mnistry at the University of Botswana and plans to start a weekly Friday night Bible study this semester. She is also finishing modules to become an Overseas Associate. Pray for wisdom and strength and for favor with students as she begins this ministry.
