Ask the Lord to shower his blessings on the ISI, Kansas City - Home Goods Giveaways. This year we are having two Giveaways with one at Avila and another at KU Medical Center. Please pray for the Lord's provision for a multitude of volunteers, financial support, and new (and gently used) donations. Safety and protection for drivers and all the students/scholars attending and opportunities to show and share the love of Jesus.
Request from Tim Sigman: Please pray for a student I am mentoring from CU Boulder. He leaves on Tuesday for a prayer assignment in a high risk area of the world. He will be there with another student friend. They will be on this assignment for about three weeks. Please pray for their protection, both of them starting battling with health issues yesterday. Praying for quick recovery. I think this is a spiritual attack so praying they will be defended from all attacks in Jesus name!
Please pray for a international staff fund-raising initiative God is using me to lead to raise initial seed money to bring on international staff to ISI. This seed money is a must with the change in ISI policy. Our first international staff this initiative is focused on is a young lady from Iran who currently lives and serves in Austin, TX. Our student club will look different this academic year as we no longer have students from the CCI program. Please pray for God to give us fresh strategies, new opportunities, and wisdom in how we connect with students. Pray that other students will still be eager to join and that we will be led to an engaging and attractive new name for the club. Also, pray for Meghan, one of our ministry partners, to have open doors and favor as she considers serving in the role of President.
"Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart... We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed... Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." 2 Corinthians, chapter 4.
Please pray for the many international students who are very anxious about the immigration uncertainties. Pray specifically for "S" from India. Ask God to give him & others peace, and a sense of safety when they come to our meetings, and that they won't fear ICE. Pray also for wisdom and discernment for us as we minister to them, especially those struggling with severe anxiety during this time.
Pray that the Religious Worker Act, submitted to Congress last month, will be approved quickly!! Pray for wisdom and favor for the officers, representatives, and all those involved in the decision-making process. This bill would allow R-1 missionaries to extend their stay beyond the current 5-year limit, allowing them to continue serving in their ministry without interruption.
Pray for a providential and miraculous CHANGE to the 2023 U.S. immigration policy that redirected R-1 RELIGIOUS WORKER visa categories to border crossers, causing a 10-year backlog for ministry workers. Many missionaries, pastors, and other ministry workers are being forced to leave the U.S. Ask the Lord to overturn this policy so that those called to serve in the U.S. can fulfill their mission without unjust delay.
Lord, our awesome & attentive God, we come to you as a needy people. We come empty-handed but confident because we know that You are Everything we need!! We ask for the Lakeland ministry, specifically at Florida Polytechnic University, for Caleb, the prospective new Min Rep as he leads the volunteer team in inspiring and planning for this new semester. Give them all such a sense of God's presence and power and joy as they look forward to welcoming new students next week.
Requests from Daniel McGhee - ISI NYC Area Director: 1. Spiritual protection for Silas Casper (age 5) as he begins kindergarten in an Arabic-English dual language school, and opportunities to connect with his classmates’ families. 2. God bring 7 international Christian students to invest in this year; successful launch of home group meetings leading to M28 studies and students coming to faith. 3.Columbia Ministry – Open doors to become an official campus club; meet more students.
Requests from Daniel McGhee - ISI NYC Area Director: 1. Staff Needs – Comfort for those grieving the loss of loved ones; joy and adjustment for staff welcoming children; physical healing for staff with health issues. 2. Campus Access & Relationships – A person of peace at both NYU and Columbia; continued and growing access at NYU; receptive hearts among students. 3. Brooklyn Ministry – Mobilization of a Brooklyn-specific ISI team.
Prayer Request from Jonathan Guest - ISI NE Regional Field Director: Hello team, Annalyn and are in the middle of unpacking and getting furniture for our new place in Lancaster PA. We're also on a tight time crunch because we need to get our son to college and our daughters start in their new school, all beginning a week from Monday. I hope I can squeeze in a cameo appearance during one of the prayer Zoom calls. Please pray for the NE Region and for us to get settled. Thank you! Jonathan
2/2 Grant us this favor, Christ Jesus, for we know that it is your will for us. Please prevent us from ever silencing your Spirit—nor dare to despise prophecy. Teach us how to wisely test all things and cling to what is good. May we flee quickly from any semblance of evil and be completely sanctified by you, our God of peace. Let our whole body, soul, and spirit be kept blameless before your return, Lord Jesus. For you who have called us is faithful. (inspired from 1 Thess 5:12-13; Jn 13:35).
