Prayer Requests and Prayer Points

Here are prayer requests and prayer prompts to help you with your prayer. You may want to bookmark this page so when you do pray, you can reach it easily. Also, please share ISM related prayer requests by clicking “add prayer request.” All prayers are screened by the prayer team so it won’t show immediately but hopefully it will show less than a couple of hours after your submission. Also, let people know you are praying for them by clicking on the “Pray” button. Thanks all!

  • Pray for 3 18-yr old Muslim men staying with a Christian host family up the street from us--that they would experience and know God's love for them through Jesus as they live there.
  • Our alumni and his family in Afghanistan, that God will keep them safe and continue to show them who Jesus is and that they will find safe passage out of the country and know that it was Jehovah God that brought them out.
      Heather says:

Just received an update from “Jamal”. They were able to make it to Pakistan. It is still not safe for them there but it is better than being in Afghanistan. They still have no word on their SIV visa application.

        Peggy Pollard says:

Halleluia! Lord please bless Jamal and his family in Pakistan, may they find help that they need and your presence protection and providence with their family, in christ’s name

  • Great prayer hour today with Lynne. Holy Spirit gave me scripture of 1 Corinthians 2:9-13 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.

  • Pray for S and E, a couple from Bangladesh who the Lord has given my husband and I favor with. They are Muslim. S is studying at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX and is currently in her 2nd trimester of pregnancy! Pray that God would give us clear opportunities to talk about Him with them. Pray that God would be pursuing their hearts with His love!
  • For EA from Saudi whom I have been mentoring since Covid began. He, along with sweet wife N, are very open seekers and very devout Ms. He openly tells me of his "love" for Jesus but needs to break thru the barrier of Jesus's true identity. Pray against the enemy's hold on his mind, and to at last embrace the Savior. We have studied M28, John's Gospel and Romans 1-8 up til now. Lord, remove the blinders from his eyes to see you, high and lifted up.
      Amarildo says:

What a blessing! Praise the Lord for your work with EA and N! Praying right now for spiritual breakthrough!

  • Opportunity to deliver Welcome Packs to new international students at Illinois State University. The original in-person new student orientation was moved to a virtual event. We are looking for a unique way to distribute the packs. The packs not only contain snacks, etc. but information about ISM opportunities on campus.
  • Pray that God will grant us favor as we look for places where international students are already gathering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Pray that we have a message to share that communicates our love and our desire to build real friendships. Pray that we are received well at student orientation on Friday, January 14.
  • Please pray for more laborers for ISI Philly--especially younger laborers called by God to serve international students here. Pray for renewed partnerships with several area churches as we hopefully come out of Covid restrictions. And pray for our small team as we seek to discern God's direction for the next 3-5 years (strategic planning/praying). Thanks.
  • Please pray for my Kuwaiti friend’s sister, Miriam. Miriam has a very rare disease that is attacking her muscular system. Her family moved to FL to receive the best care but the doctors are at a loss of how to help/proceed. Please pray for a miraculous healing over Miriam and that the Lord would make Himself known powerfully and tenderly to all her family! Also, please pray for my friend, Shahad (Miriam’s sister), that she would sense the Lord’s peace, presence, and come to know Jesus through this difficult time! 🙏🏼❤️
      Gene Congdon says:

Encourage the family to get an EMG test from a neurologist. Could be she has ALS; that was the test that confirmed ALS in me 9 months ago.

  • Please pray for more staff and Volunteers to join our Colorado Springs team so that we can reach more students as we would be able to offer more things! We are stretched quite thin right now and seeking the Lord for His vision for our team and ministry at UCCS. Please pray for wisdom, creativity, and life giving ideas to implement (wisdom and direction in this) that would honor and glorify the Lord!
  • Please pray for wisdom to our leadership team while we plan the start of next semester. Rather we should start our activities virtually or in-person. Several of our students have tested positive for COIVD over the weekend. Please pray for protection over them, for a quick recovery, and also for strength and provisions while they quarantine.

  • Please pray for boldness over our Believing students and that they would take ownership of their Faith to share with their classmates, professors, and more the GOOD NEWS! And would they prioritize sharing and knowing Jesus even over their studies.
  • Please pray for an awakening and stirring in the hearts of our international students that there is more to this life than just wealth, status, seeking happiness, or gaining respect! Would they come to know Jesus personally and be drawn by His kindness and love through His children around them!
